Canon Updated: DGS2-Case 3, before 2nd day trial -> DGS2-4, spending the night in France

A college student and also a qualified defense attorney, admired and respected for his achievements. He's even called the pride of the Japanese Empire. So he's cool stuff, the ideal student everyone should strive to be, but under the surface, he has some skeletons hiding in his closet.

When he qualified for the exchange program to study in Great Britain, there was a second part to that deal. Though he tells everyone he wants to change Japan's legal system, his true mission is to find the truth behind his father's death. He was willing to do anything to find that answer, even accept an assassination exchange. Though he says he had no intention of going through with the assassination, he still brought Naruhodou along as a failsafe, but not tell him why. So basically, he's a man of many secrets and wants to do everything himself.

An incident occurs on the ship to Great Britain that left Asougi with amnesia. The only thing pushing forward is voice telling him that he must reach Great Britain and do something. He'll eventually arrive in that great city and becomes Barok Van Ziek's disciple.

PERSONALITY
He's a quiet reserved man, generally likes to keep himself busy. One would think he was an empty man from looking at him, someone who has lost his fire. He lacks the memories of his past, but he doesn't let that deter him. Whatever he's capable of, he'll find a way to make it work. He has a strong sense of justice and duty, but also can be a bit of a perfectionist and a hot head when riled. He also has a one track mind. Once he's set on something, he'll dedicate himself to make sure it gets done.

Update: As of the canon update, he now remembers everything again. While not much has changed, he's become more secretive, hiding it behind a friendly, confident front. He seems warm, and yet cold at the same time.

QUIRK IN-DEPTH: More sociable thanks to Jekyll, to an extent. Once he's actually killed something, it becomes an obsession and he is emotionally unstable when Hyde is in control.

ABILITIES
WEAPON: Swords (his cane could hide one), preferably katanas. Enhancers, poisons and other status effects
STYLE: Asougi style sword techniques, basically samurai.

Acquires medicinal knowledge. Eventually when he is more proficient at creating medicines, he could create poisons to coat weapons. As Hyde continues to take over, his strength is enhanced and gains a regenerative trait. When he is himself, he is control and calculated, using weapons in a fight. As Hyde, he is violent and reckless, opting to use brute strength to force his way in and out of things.

What is retained from canon is his knowledge of using swords, his acute understanding of the law, and knowing English and Japanese. More Info on regains and upgrades here
